Thereafter being printed onto adhesive vinyl.
The printed material is directly applied to a wall or other desired surface.
Can a mural be taken from a photo from a normal digital camera?
Normal digital cameras usually have too low a resolution to acheive a substantial enlargement. Normally they are jpegs with 72dpi of actual size. An A4 sized image with 72dpi enlarged to A3 will become pixelated (with the pixels visible).
Can it be taken from a photo from a conventional (roll) camera?
Yes, but the negative is needed to gain the best results
The negative contains the original image from which the printed image can be enlarged to more substantial dimensions. A photo on the other hand however is reproduced from a negative, thus has lower quality. To scan and enlarge an image from a photo if the negative is lost; the photo must be scanned in very high resolution.
What resolution is advised to get the best results?
To get the best results, the image must be at least 100dpi at actual size.
Which is the best file format for digital printing?
The best format is tiff. It uses a compression without loss of data. A jpg image is not advised for digital printing as the compression system loses data.
What is the difference between dye ink and uv ink?
Uv ink was specially evolved to reduce solar-related fading. A print made with uv ink lasts more time and is more resitent in exterior use than dye ink. An image printed on HP artist canvas can maintain its original tones for 150 years before showing color loss.
